Wooden treated and planed round timber poles suitable for ‘design your own’ swing frames.

  • These are PLAYGROUND GRADE  Timbers. They are not fencing grade as DIY stores and general timber merchants offer.

The 100mm x 3.55m swing poles are only available for collection. Due to the size and weight of these poles we have been unable to find a courier who will be able to deliver these.

Understanding Wood

Wood is a natural product which is subject to the influence of the moisture content of the air and ground. In warm sunny weather round timber will shrink and in wet weather the reverse applies. These stresses will create some cracking and splitting in the timbers. The width of the cracks can be up to 3% of the circumference of the component and they can go nearly to the centre of the timber in depth. Cracks of this size are allowed for in calculating the operational strength .
